Latest Thriftly.io Version Adds Support for REST APIs and Unicode

Latest Thriftly.io Version Adds Support for REST APIs and Unicode

Mertech is pleased to announce the immediate availability of two new features in THRIFTLY.IO. The latest build of THRIFTLY adds support for Unicode encoding ability to serve RESTful Web APIs. For any of thees features, users do not have to change anything in their existing code base to benefit from these new features.

By adding support for REST Apis, THRIFTLY becomes the only API development tool on the market that lets developers serve four different protocols with the same programming interface. Developers now have a choice to server APIs in REST, JSON, SOAP and Binary protocols over TCP as well as HTTP without worry about writing additional code to support these different protocols.

“THRIFTLY is designed to expedite the re-development of existing code base to work in the Cloud,” Said Riaz Merchant CEO of Mertech. “With support for REST in addition to JSON, SOAP, and Binary, we are now supporting every major API protocol used by developers. This is keeping in line with our goal to make developing APIs simple and flexible.”

To see how a RESTful API can be used with javascript, check out our demo page

Unicode encoding support
has been added to allow developers to build a cloud-based application that can handle any character in any language. The Unicode character supports over one million characters. The main objective behind developing a Unicode standard is to have a single character set that supports all characters from all scripts, as well as symbols, that are in common use around the world today and with a capacity to spare for anything that may come in the future.
