New Product Announcement: THRIFTLY.IO

It gives me great pleasure to bring you an innovative new product from Mertech that will enable software developers to move to a SaaS model quickly and open doors to new business. We call this new offering:

THRIFTLY.IO

THRIFTLY.IO enables Windows developers (.NET, Java and DataFlex) to securely access the business logic and data deployed at their customer sites and easily integrate them into new revenue-generating services or mobile applications. All this with ZERO NETWORK CONFIGURATION!

With THRIFTLY.IO our goal is to help developers move quickly from a Desktop-centric application to a User-centric SaaS offering. We achieve this by enabling them to convert existing function calls to public APIs or to develop new APIs in the language they know without worrying about protocols and transports.

THRIFTLY.IO is comprised of two parts that work together:

1. The Thriftly Server that runs with your desktop applications on an on-premise Windows machine or in the cloud on Azure or Amazon Cloud infrastructure.
   
   
2. The Thriftly API gateway which knows where all your servers are and how to call the APIs exposed at those locations.

This approach eliminates the challenge of changing network configuration at remote sites to run a web application locally.

To further simplify deployment, Thriftly will be self-configuring this means that you will be able to send your Thriftly-enabled program to your customers. During the installation process, the Thriftly server will install itself as a service, based on parameters you provide and will connect automatically to the fastest THRIFTLY.IO gateway to make your APIs public.

Our goal is to allow the developers a hybrid Windows-Cloud solution that seamlessly ties your remote desktop deployments with any Cloud-based offering you may want to offer to your customers.

Most API development tools and gateways are extremely expensive and target Enterprise customers only. Our goal is to make building and consuming APIs affordable for all software developers. That is why the THRIFTLY.IO will start at $20 per month per server.
