Oracle 10g XE Client is different from the client that XE server install for you, first of all with XE Client we don't get the same configurations files that we get in a XE server. No tnsnames.ora, you need to use another notation to connect to a remote server also the windows registry keys are stored in another Windows registry directory.
Assuming you are using a SQL database and a Flex2SQL driver, the Flex2SQL driver has a feature, SQL_Set_Constraint, that automatically adds a constraint to find all operations.
You can open an SQL table without having an INT file by using the Open method. Although you don’t need the INT file, an FD file is still required to compile your DF/VDF application.
You must change the FD (field definition) files and insert the macro command.
To run Flex2SQL for Oracle in a HP-UX, set the environment variables below:
They are as follows:
The Use Regular Save During Migration (SQL Server only) means that when it is checked, SQL puts recnum in sequence on backend which meaning they won't match the sequence from DataFlex. If the option is on, then the recnum will follow the DataFlex sequence on the backend. When this option is on, the migration takes longer.
Is accessing Flex2SQL Driver registration information registered on their server, is there any program that can check the liceseing information (such as Licened To:, Number of users:, etc) from the file SQL_DRV.CFG possible?
Flex2SQL will auto generate these files:
- mdsrestruct.src (Its the file you will compile using your VDF compiler)
- MdsRestructureHelper.pkg (This package contains helper functions for restructuring your databases when using the mertech drivers)
- <YourTable>.inc (It has the procedure with the restructure code)
